Release times and delivery methods

• Standard delivery: within 15 working days , via email in PDF format. A paper original can be sent via registered mail with return receipt.
• Urgent requests: Delivery within 3 business days via email in PDF format. If the deadline is not met, the amount paid for the urgent request will be refunded .
• International delivery: upon request, the paper document can also be sent via international courier .

Marriage Certificate: What It Is, What It's Used For, and How to Request It

The Marriage Certificate is an official document issued by the Municipality certifying the marriage between two people. It contains the details of the marriage certificate, the personal details of the spouses, and any annotations found in the civil registry.

Validity and requirements for the application

The document is legally valid for 6 months .

To submit the request you will need:

• name and surname of the spouses
• date and place of birth of the spouses
  
• Date and place of the celebration: (The municipality where you physically got married)
• Municipality of transcription: (Usually the municipality of residence at the time of the wedding, where the deed was recorded for registry purposes)
  

Information contained in the certificate

• Name and surname of the spouses
• Date of birth of the spouses
• Municipality of birth of the spouses
• Wedding date and place
• Any notes

PS: The community property regime is not indicated in the marriage certificate. This annotation appears only if the spouses have opted for the separation of property regime.

Be careful of dates not present in the archives

It may be that information about the individual is not available in the Civil Registry Office archives, perhaps because the individual was born over 100 years ago or because the marriage, which took place abroad, has not yet been registered in Italy. In this case, the certificate cannot be issued .

Who can request certificates?

Certificates can be requested by anyone with a legitimate interest .
Some Civil Registry Offices may require a proxy accompanied by a copy of the interested party's identity document.

Transparency and Refunds

• We only retain the fixed research costs (approximately € 39.00 in addition to any sums paid to the municipality ).
• We will fully refund any unused costs (courier shipping, additional services, or apostilles).
