Release times and delivery methods

• Standard delivery: within 7 working days , via email in PDF format. A paper original can also be sent via registered mail with return receipt.
• Urgent requests: Delivery within 3 business days via email in PDF format. If the deadline is not met, the amount paid for the urgent request will be refunded .
• International delivery: upon request, the paper document can also be sent via international courier .

Family Status Certificate: What it is, what it's for, and how to request it.

The Family Status Certificate is an official document issued by the Municipality certifying the demographic composition of a family unit residing in the same home. The certificate lists all people living at the same address, including any unrelated individuals.

Validity and requirements for the application

The Family Status Certificate is legally valid for 6 months and can be requested in any Italian municipality , regardless of place of residence.
To submit the request you will need:

• name and surname of the interested party
• date and place of birth
• Municipality of residence

Information contained in the certificate

For each member of the family unit the following are reported:

• name and surname
• date of birth
• Place of birth
• Municipality and address of residence

Historical Family Status Certificate: What it is and when it's needed

In addition to the ordinary certificate, it is possible to request the Historical Family Status Certificate , useful for reconstructing the family composition as of a specific date indicated in the request form.

Be careful of dates not present in the archives

It may happen that the requested date is not available in the Registry Office archives. In this case, the certificate will be issued starting from the closest available date .
The customer will always be informed promptly of any additional costs; in fact, many municipalities apply a secretarial fee of €5.20 for each component included in the historical certificate .

Who can request certificates?

Certificates can be requested by anyone with a legitimate interest .
Some Civil Registry Offices may require a proxy accompanied by a copy of the interested party's identity document.
